last
week the olympic trials for usa and many different countries were
held in charlotte. this race was definently an important and fun
event for many people. the whole week of training before the race
got me kind of excited. happily, I got to miss two days of school
before the race to relax and chill and not have to worry about
schoolwork.
on thursday, boat check was held and I was very furius as I knew
my boat would definetly not pass! it took me three tries before
I could get my boat through boatcheck. I was not very happy that
morning but excitment grew as everyone started preparing for the
race.
although the friday race turned out pretty bad for many people,
including myself, there were some good performances. the course
was quite tough and there was a lot of pressure on the first day.
saturday was a big one for many racers and overall, it turned
out pretty good. I was very upset that day because I had missed
my first run but all the anger came out in my second run when
I gave it all I had.
on the last day, everything came down to two last runs and some
runs were incredible. the results are posted on the usnwc website
and you can see the times from all three days. I was pretty satisfied
with the race, mostly with sunday because I didnt miss my run.
I would like to congratulate to all who made the team and to pablo
mccandles who is now the olympic boat for chile. great job everyone!
